Wood Floor Cleaning
Wood floors in your home can be difficult to keep clean by yourself. That's why Precise Carpet Cleaning provides wood floor cleaning for homes and businesses in the St. Louis and St. Charles metro areas. This is a great way to get a deep cleaning on your wood flooring and keeping it maintained and beautiful. After we clean your floor, we can apply a coat of urethane refinisher to help improve the look and protect your floor in between cleanings. Our wood floor cleaning system is designed to dry quickly after we are done so you can use the floor in about an hour and not worry about the effects of moisture like warping.
Please note: This process will not fix the scratches in your floor. But it will completely clean it and allow us to get a coat of refinisher applied so the floor is protected again.
What To Expect From Your Wood Floor Cleaning
Our wood floor cleaning process is a thorough but gentle process that dries quickly. After the floor has been vacuumed, we apply our safe non-residue floor cleaning product. This solution is gently agitated using two brushes on the bottom of our machine to lift dirt and other grime off of your wood floor. Then we extract the dirty water. This system allows us to thoroughly clean wood floors without the problems of over-wetting them. The cleaning process dries quickly with no residue and the floors can be used shortly after cleaning.
Refinishing Wood Floors After Cleaning
After your wood floors have been cleaned, they will be ready to be finished with a urethane refinisher to improve the look of the floor and provide a protective barrier. This is a clear finish coat that will help protect and seal the hard wood floor. After we apply the refinisher to the floor there cannot be any foot traffic in the area for an hour. After the hour has passed, then light foot traffic is acceptable.
You must wait 24 hours for heavy traffic or to replace any furniture to ensure the finish has time to fully protect the floor.
Maintaining Your Wood Floors Between Deep Cleanings
After we clean your wood floors, there are ways you can maintain them between cleanings. When choosing a wooden floor cleaner, exercise caution when choosing your product to ensure that it will dry quickly.
We recommend two products to use on wood floors. The first is called Bona, which you can find just about anywhere and the other is, Squeaky by Basic. Both of these products include a kit that will have everything you need and work work well for light cleaning. Be sure to vacuum your wooden floor often and wipe any spills up as soon as possible to prevent stains and moisture damage.
Our professional cleaners will be more than happy to help you determine what product is best for your floors and needs.
