Carpet Cleaning in snow

Carpet Cleaning in snowWith all the snow we have been getting this year. We wanted to let everyone know that we do perform our carpet cleaning in snow when needed. Also some things to take into consideration during and after a snow.

The first and most obvious is tracking in slush and salt from the outside. So the best thing to do to help with this it to keep floor mats by each outside door. Another thing to keep an eye on is the carpet in your lower level. When the ground is frozen and we have a rain or large snow melt the water will have limited areas to go. One area water will tend to go is the basement of our homes.

It is a good idea to keep a close eye on your lower level to be sure no water is entering. So if you do notice some moisture it is very important to get it dry as quick as possible. If noticed quickly this can be a fairly easy problem to resolve. But if not noticed for a few days the damages could be much worse.

What do do if you notice your carpet is wet.

If you do notice any moisture in your carpet be sure to call right away to get it removed out. The sooner we get the majority of the water out the quicker the rest will completely dry. If everything is dry within a few days most of the time everything can be dried and cleaned but if it takes longer than 5 days or so most of the time items will need to be replaced.

Be sure to look around your house a few times as the snow melt to be sure that the snow on your roof is melting and running away from the house properly. Sometimes there is packed snow or ice in the downspouts that will not allow water to flow. This can cause additional problems.

Contact us if you have any questions or need some carpet cleaning done. After the snow is gone you may find that your carpets are dirtier than before the snow and we can certainly help with that too. It is a very good idea to clean your carpets after a snow to remove all the salt and other products from the indoor environment.
